Biographies

Mtre Raymond Grenier attended the University of Ottawa and obtained his law degree (LL.L.) from the Faculty of Law, Civil Law section in 1979 and was admitted as a member of the Quebec Board of Notaries in 1980, after having completed a Diploma in Notarial Law (D.D.N). Notary Grenier specializes in real estate law and more specifically, in commercial real estate financing and acquisition and acts on behalf of several financial institutions. At the professional level Notary Grenier has been active in consulting committees of the Quebec Board of Notaries and member of the joint committee formed by the Québec Bar and the Québec Board of Notaries, in charge of the revision of the English language version of Book VI of the Civil Code of Québec. Notary Grenier is also active in community work.

His colleague Mtre Luc Gagnon specializes in title examinations and the preparation of legal opinions. Notary Gagnon studied at the Université de Montréal, Faculty of Law where he obtained his law degree (LL.L.) in 1975 and was admitted as a member of the Quebec Board of Notaries in 1976 after having completed a Diploma in Notarial Law (D.D.N.). Notary Gagnon has been active on the professional level as a member of the disciplinary committee of the Board of Notaries for a number of years.

Admitted to practice as a notary in 1989, Mtre Christine Gagnon has a master's degree in Civil Law from Université Laval, as well as a doctorate in the same discipline from Université de Montréal, where her thesis was on divided co-ownership law. In addition to authoring several journal articles on divided co-ownership, Mtre Gagnon also published Québec's first reference work on the subject, La copropriété divise. She is an in-demand guest speaker at law conferences, and she lectures on co-ownership law at both Université Laval and Université de Montréal. Mtre Gagnon is a member of the Québec City notarial firm of Côté, Taschereau Samson Demers as well as the Chambre nationale des experts en copropriété of Paris. She was also recently appointed President of the Commission consultative sur la pratique du droit immobilier de la Chambre des notaires du Québec.

Mtre Anne-Marie Trempe was admitted to practice as a notary in 1983.  She studied at Université de Montréal where she obtained her Bachelor of law degree (LL.B.) in 1982 and her Diploma of Notarial Law (D.D.N.) in 1983.  Her practice is mainly concentrated in real estate law.

Mtre Sophie Morel was admitted to practice as a notary in 2009. Holder of a Bachelor of Law degree (L.L.B.) obtained in 2006 at the University of Québec at Montréal and of a Diploma of Notarial Law (D.D.N.) obtained in 2008 at the University of Montréal, Mtre Morel completed her internship at the Law Office of Grenier Gagnon Notaries. Her primarily areas of practice are in commercial real estate law, corporate law and in co-ownership law.
